Altapedia : a good source for maps and for detailed information about any country
in the world.
History of Maps : a site with a TON of information on the history of map-making
(cartography). This site is huge -- so it could take a while for you to find what you
need. But rest assured, if it's related to maps, this site has it! Recommended.
Map Machine : a cool site from National Geographic that allows you to interactively
"zoom in" on any country in the world. Neat stuff.
MapQuest.com : provides lots of map-related features including a "zoomable" maps
(click the "Maps" icon to go to those maps)..
Reference Maps : this page from the CIA World Fact Book provides good-looking color
maps that you can download and use in your homework documents or reports.
World Maps : similar to the above-mentioned Map Machine, this Microsoft Encarta
sub-site lets you zoom in to any area of the Earth by just clicking on a virtual globe.
