Some Events in the History of Drugs : this web page contains a brief chronology of

Environmental Health
Environmental Diseases A-to-Z : very good paragraph-length summaries regarding how
some diseases are caused, to a large degree, by environmental processes.
Environmental Health : this Dmoz.org index provides dozens of well-described links to
sites that deal with environmental health. If you want to get a good feel for the scope
of environmental health organizations, studies, and effects, this is a fine place
to start.
Department of Energy Environment, Safety and Health Portal : find information
regarding chemical, radiation and other forms of environmental waste. This site is bit
advanced -- so we recommend it for older students only.
OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) : check out the"OSHA News"
section for the latest OSHA safety news. You can also use the site's search engine
to find OSHA reports on companies, chemicals, environmental issues and more.
Scorecard : enter your zip code to find which companies and organizations are (or have
been) guilty of seriously polluting your community. This is an awesome resource
that you can use to personalize a report about environmental health!

Superfund : the official web site of the Environmental Protection Agency's "Superfund,"
the fund designed to pay for the cleaning up of toxic waste sites.
Toxicology and Environmental Health Information : this National Institutes of Health
site offers links and resources that study toxins in the environment. The information
here can be quite advanced, scientifically, so it is best used by students who are in
high school or higher.

Family / General Health
Health and Fitness at AZHealth.com : a very useful site for finding general
information on women's health, men's health, nutrition, and other health topics.
Recommended.
Healthopedia.com : a terrific and comprehensive online health encyclopedia. Here you
can find information about nearly any medical situation or malady. Recommended.
Healthy LifeStyle : good, solid advice on the things that you can do to live an overall 
       healthy lifestyle. Topics covered include heart issues, cholesterol, exercise,
       and more.
Healthy Living Centers : A really good group of sub-sites from the Mayo Clinic that deal
with all sorts of family and child health issues. Highly recommended.
KidsHealth.org : a really colorful and useful site that categorizes family health issues
into parent, teen and kids sections. Nicely done. Recommended.
Merck Manual: Home Edition : a superb and comprehensive source for info on all
major disorders and health issues. If you need information about ANY health-related
physical disorder, look here! Highly recommended.
Virtual Hospital : this massive University of Iowa medical site provides information on just
about any medical problem or issue that you can imagine. It's a big site -- so it may
take a little time to find what you need -- but rest assured that it's there! A very
impressive site by the Hawkeyes! Recommended.

First Aid
1st Aid : a totally great site that provides information about poisonous plants, insects,
choking emergencies, general safety and tons of other great first aid information.
Highly recommended.
Active First Aid Online : this Australian site offers an impressive on-line version of the
"Active First Aid" book. Highly informative!
"First Aid" from Dmoz.org : a totally awesome index of links that will take you to almost
any subject related to first aid. Very good.
First Aid and Self-Care : an excellent source for instructions on how to perform first aid
for numerous emergency situations. This site is maintained by the Mayo Clinic.
Recommended.
Rescue 411 : click a link of your choice in the "Subcategories" section to be taken to a
