you with homework involving numerous areas of science.
ScienceDaily.com : a terrific site that provides timely articles on daily scientific
breakthroughs and events. All articles are written in "plain English" so that even
younger students can understand them! Recommended.
SciTech News from ABCNews.com : daily science and technology news from the folks at
ABC News.

Ecology / Environment
Biomes : very good overall information about all of the world's major biomes (environments
as defined by their generally adapted plants and organisms). Well worth a visit.   
"Ecology" from Yahoo : a superb collection of links to ecology sites and resources. This
is the perfect place to start any research on ecology.
GreenInformation.com : the "Ecology" page at this site offers very good links to many
well-chosen ecology and environmental sites. Definitely worth checking out!
Greenpeace.org : the official web site of the world's leading independent environmental
protection organization. Here, you'll find all kinds of facts regarding how large
corporations and unscrupulous governments pollute the Earth's air, land, and seas.

U. S. Geological Survey : a great site to find any kind of geographical information about
any state or area in the United States. Recommended.

History of Science
Homework Tip : Web sites offering a general summary of the history of science
  don't seem to exist at all. So, if you are doing a report on this topic, be
  ready to do a lot of web surfing in order to piece together your report.

"History of Science" by Henry Smith Williams : a HUGE on-line text detailing the
history of science from the prehistoric era through the 1800s. For serious students of
the history of science only!
