States Congress.
United States Supreme Court Official Web Site: learn all about the most powerful
court in the United States. This site contains information on the court's opinions, its
function and purpose, and much more.

"Foreign and International Law" from FindLaw.com : a very good collection of
resources covering most aspects of international and foreign (non-US) law.
"Foreign and International Law" from WashLaw Web : contains many useful links
to international law sites. This site is especially useful if searching for laws that are
specific to a given country.
Individual Country Law from FindLaw.com : this sub-site of FindLaw is an excellent
source for understanding the laws and legal processes of individual countries.
Recommended.
International Court of Justice Official Web Site : learn about the United Nations' most
powerful judicial court. A very informative site.

Military Science / Military History
"Military History" from Yahoo : a great listing of sites, categorized by subject, on all
aspects of military history. A perfect place to start any homework involving
military history.
"Military Science" from WWW Sites About Science : a superb military science
resource from Belarus. Great, well-chosen links! Recommended.
"Modern Strategy and Tactics" from The Learning Network : written for middle
school-age students, this page provides a very concise explanation of the evolution
of war techniques from the US Civil War to the present day.
"War and World History" from the Multnomah County Library : another great
resource from the folks at Multnomah. Here, you will find excellent links sites that
provide information on history's major wars. Recommended.
"Weaponry" from Britannica : a nice source of summaries to articles about ancient to
present-day military weapons.

offices in the United States. Recommended.
OpenSecrets.org : an absolutely amazing site where you can find out who contributed
how much "campaign money" to US senators and representatives. You can even
track down contributions to state-level politicians! Awesome! Highly
recommended.
United States House of Representatives Official Web Site : learn how "The House"
operates, what legislation it's considering, and lots of other House-related stuff.
United States Senate Official Web Site : learn all about the US Senate, senators,
committees, Senate history and much more at this elegant site! Recommended.
United States Supreme Court Official Web Site : lots of great info on the court's
opinions, case-tracking, and oral arguments. Worth a visit. You may also want to
visit Yahoo's Supreme Court links for still more info.
United States White House Official Web Site : here, you can learn all about the
White House, the president, and the vice president. In addition, there's a good
amount of information on their respective families. Nice.

Amnesty International : an excellent source for information and facts regarding human
rights abuses around the world -- and what can be done to stop them. Well worth
a visit.
"Countries" from Yahoo : this index of countries is a great place to start your research
on their respective governments.
CountryReports.org : a fine site where you'll find all kinds of useful information about any
country in the world. Definitely worth visiting.
"International Relations" : this Social Science Information Gateway site offers links to
foreign relations resources related to every continent. Very good!
Political Database of the Americas : a very informative site where you can get all
kinds of current information for the countries located North America and
South America.
"Regional Conflicts" from Yahoo : a good listing of sites that provide information on
wars, skirmishes, and political dangers in and around many of the world's nations.
United Nations : the official UN web site. Here you can learn about the organization's
efforts to promote international law, world peace, human rights, global economic
development and more.
World Governments : this web site may not look like much, but it's a very good starting
point to find general information about the government of any nation in the world.

information regarding the government, politics, and culture of most any country.
World Political : a very good site for getting information on the latest international
political news and global conflicts.

PopCultures.com : use the "Subjects" box to find well-written observations on all kinds
of popular culture events and people. Fun, thought-provoking stuff.

Sociology: Chapter by Chapter : a really cool web site designed by sociology
students. This site not only provides you with lots of sociological information, it also
teaches you about sociology as browse through it! Very good.
Stats.org : a fantastic site that points out how surveys, polls, and other information in
many new reports, political statements, and other media-related stories is often just
plain WRONG! If you're doing a homework assignment regarding social studies,
politics or the news media, then this site will provide you with a wealth of terrific,
though-provoking information. Highly recommended.

Urban Legends and Hoaxes
Computer Virus Myths and Hoaxes at VMyths.com : a very good site devoted to
educating the public about phony computer viruses and similar high tech hoaxes.
HoaxBusters : a very good site that, among other things, exposes the lies behind many
of those e-mail chain letters that you probably get every now and then.
Urban Legends and Myths from Yahoo : a good index of sites that you can go to in
order to learn where urban legends are born -- and how to avoid being fooled by
those legends.
Urban Legends Reference Pages : a terrific site devoted to determining which urban
legends are true or false. Hint: most are false! Recommended.
Urban Legend Zeitgeist : a very good, easy-to-navigate site that sheds light on those
pesky and sometimes scary urban legends.
